Exams
April 29, 2004 on 9:28 am | In Uni | No CommentsNow it occurs to be that my last two posts have been about Gary’s blog. Why is this you ask when I have an exam in about 30 minutes. I was wondering this when it occured to me that Gary also has an exam in about 30 minutes. So what is he doing writing blog entries, searching for tweaks for Internet Explorer and typing “mastershite” into google and hitting “I’m feeling lucky” or should that be ‘loocky’?
Piglet: And what are you answering yourself
Yes…quite

It’s not that handy, well a little maybe.
Quoting the site
These missing feature can be found in Mozilla and Netscape. Nothing more to say.
Atleast Mozilla doesn’t get broken or messed about with for no good reason
F1: Montoya slams Schumacher
April 26, 2004 on 10:01 am | In F1 | No CommentsF1: Montoya slams Schumacher - Juan Pablo Montoya accuses Michael Schumacher of dirty driving at Imola. [BBC News]
Quotes from Montoya
“It’s very disappointing to have racing like that and I will be surprised if he gets away with it.”
He [Michael Schumacher] must be blind or stupid.”
“Look at Indianapolis last year - there I was given a drive-through and that cost me the championship.”
“I would be champion now - and he gets away with it. The rules are not fair”
I’m a big fat looser that can’t handle the size of my own ego
Ok so maybe that last one was a fabrication, or should that be an interpretation -reading between the lines. But come on get a grip. Grow up for God’s sake. I personally don’t like Montaya after the heated debate with Jaques Villeneuve when he said “Atleast I didn’t kill anybody”, refering to the accident in Australia that year where one of Villeneuve’s tyres from a crash killed a steward. That’s just totally unacceptable.
TV in North Korea
April 24, 2004 on 11:15 pm | In Travel, Topical | No CommentsThe news coverage of North Korea is very odd. Reports of a massive explosion with several killed and over a thousand injured and what does North Korean TV say - nothing.
The idea that you can deny all knowledge of an event to the people of the country seems very naive but that’s what they are doing. All North Korean TV has on is the Army Choirs, Sunsets and a woman talking very fervently about the achievements of the ruler.
It reminds me a little of Prague (we visited last summer - it’s a really cool place, a little touristy but really cool). The largest building in Prague is the TV tower that was used to block out all external TV signals. For years they were broadcasting how rubbish capitalism was and that the rest of the world was falling apart whilst Czechoslovakia (as it was) was living in communist splendor.
The thing I find funny is that all the visitors to Prague seemed to say ‘lovely view - shame about that big tower’. This seems to me to be missing the point. Yes, ok, the TV tower is far from beautiful but it represents a very important part of the country’s history so it would seem wrong for it not to be there - ugly or not
Holiday?
April 22, 2004 on 11:15 pm | In Uni, Life | No CommentsIt’s been a while since I last posted anything. Partly testament to the crapness of the phone lines round here that cause the modem to misbehave and partly because I have a whole heap of work to do.
Coursework’s almost done. I’ll get it done tonight.
Revision is far from done but getting there. If anyone out there actually understands Optimal Power Flow and has a minute (or a day or two depending on how hard it is) could they please explain it to me as I haven’t got a clue - all I can say is thank God for the other half of the course. The two computing exams I’ve got in the first week should be fine if a little hazy. I don’t know if I’m less prepared than last year or not.
Oh well. We shall see. I get a night off tomorrow to go out for a meal for Andrea’s 21st (it’s actually on Saturday but that’ll be a family thing). So it’s an evening of Curry and Jazz - don’t ask me - more strangely in a place called the Rum Story. Should be fine.
Anyway Fuzzy Logic beckons
I’ll see everyone soon once I’m back in London
Love Actually
April 15, 2004 on 11:15 pm | In Film | No CommentsI had the misfortune of watching ‘Love Actually’ last night. Feel good films at it’s worst. It was possible the cheesiest film I have ever had to endure. Especially the kid in the airport shouting ‘Joanne’ through a sheet of glass. What were they thinking - that phrase also applying to the romance between the two stand-in ‘actors’ on the set of a pornographic film.
Atleast Andrea agreed with me - wouldn’t want to be going out with anyone that actually liked the damn film. They’d end up wetter than a weekend in Skegness
Apologies: I should possibly apologies to the makers of the film, anyone that liked it (who is probably so offended by now they’ve stopped reading) and the residents of Skegness
Home
April 9, 2004 on 11:15 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsWell, I’m back at home now so I might be a bit quite for a while. I’ve got loads to do (revision, coursework) but it should all be ok.
See everyone when I get back - have a good ‘holiday’
