Judge OKs Microsoft Lin—s offensive - Objections dashed [The Register]

Ok so maybe Lindows does sound too much like Windows and infringes on their Trademark, and I can see why Microsoft would want to combat a company trying to directly take business away from it’s own products. But Lindash? Even complaining about Lin—- was a little harsh but Lindash. According to Microsoft “[Lindash] bears an auditive resemblance to Windows”. How? Surely that means OS X should have to change it’s name because poor little windows users might confuse it with XP.

Books

Oh, I forgot to mention. I was walking round Waterstones the other day. I decided to buy a few books and then preceded to get annoyed by 3 for 2 offers, which by some natural twist of nature completely fail to offer 3 books one would want to buy. Thankfully I managed to find 3 I wanted.

-1984 by George Orwell - It’s a really cool book, there are also mutterings of Dramsoc doing it next year (assuming it’s proposed and chosen). There isn’t a script for it at the moment but if no one else wants to I think I might give it a bash.

-Alice in Wonderland (and through the looking glass) - When I attempted to review the version of Alice the medics did I realized I couldn’t really as I had only seen the Disney film. This is a poor state of affairs and needs to be addressed.

-The Lovely Bones- It sounds cool, and I’ve heard some good things about it. Also I probably don’t read enough books by female authors.

I’ll let you know how I get on.

Work

Or rather lack of it. I’m finding it really hard to get any work done at the moment which is a bit worrying given I’ve got 4 coursework deadlines and exams in 3 weeks time.

Damn.

Oh Well, it could be worse. At least I think I understood the courses this year which is a lot more than in the previous years. And I only need 53% ish to get a 2:1, which even if I don’t get I’ll still get my job. I gues I can’t lose anything really. If I don’t get a 2:1 I’ll be doing OU degrees ’till I do.

Anyway back to (attempting to) work
