Ralf Schumacher has recently branded the Ferrari team ‘arrogant’ according to this BBC article
He says
“How can they be so arrogant as to start the season with the old car?”
Well….they started the season last year with the old car and wiped the floor with everyone else. Although that strategy hasn’t worked this year they still aren’t in dire problems yet so hopefully we’ll have an exciting season watching Michael trying to claw his way back.

Yes I realise I haven’t said much recently. I guess to a certain extent not much has happened. I visited Gary a while back and went to see Lemon Jelly who were good but very different from they’re records.
I’m also about to start flat hunting soon. Sooner than I expected to have to start but oh well…. Hopefully I’ll find somewhere nice. The current flat I’m in is ok but it has a few minor annoyances.
Anyhow, I’ll stop wittering on now. TTFN

The formula 1 season has started again. I can’t say I was enthralled by the first race but oh well.
One interesting event was Honda’s retirement of their cars which Toyota are now claiming to be unsportsman-like. The BBC article brings up a few interesting points.
Since when has anyone if F1 not tried to bend the rules as much as they can get away with? I don’t even agree that retiring the car and hence avoiding the 10 place penalty in the next race for an engine change is wrong or bad for the sport. What we want is more of a mixture of teams doing well. The good teams (i.e. the ones that always finish in the points) will have to have more reliable engines as they will need to last two races. The slower teams can retire, change engine and hopefully benifit from others retirement. I refuse to accept that whoever wrote the rules was naive enough not to consider the outcomes of the rule.

This is something Andy has talked about before but…
At the moment our office is filled with large cabinets full of disk drives and more importantly fans – mainly thanks to the software boys. This means everywhere I go I’m surrounded by a constant background noise of bloody fans whirring. To drown this out I sometimes listen to music while I work.
Thanks to Magnatune I have access to some very good music for free.
My current favourites are Drop Trio (funky organ jazz), John Williams (mellow jazz/blues guitar – but only the Dusty Porch album, the Long ride home tracks are a bit more jazzy and not quite to my taste). Beat Under Control (“electrofunk”) and Mr Gelatine (electronica) are also quite good too.
The thing is that there are loads of artist and because you can download the mp3s for free you get to sample albums before you decide whether you like it. One can of course buy the album if you want better quality (by downloading higher bit rate files or being sent a CD) – atleast you know you like the music before you pay anything.
I’m slowly continuing my search so if anyone finds anything good let me know.
